Jennifer Fernandes

Professor Fernandes is a distinguished Program Director and full-time faculty member in the Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) program at Mercy University. A proud Mercy alumna, she brings over a decade of experience in health care, with a clinical focus on the older adult population with physical and mental impairments. She holds a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Health Care Management (2020), a Bachelor of Science degree (2019), and an AAS in Occupational Therapy Assistant (2015), all from Mercy University.

In her role as Program Director, Prof. Fernandes provides strategic leadership and oversight for the OTA program, ensuring excellence in academic programming, faculty development, student advisement, and clinical education. She is actively involved in curriculum innovation, accreditation processes, and fostering partnerships within the health care community. Additionally, she contributes to university-wide initiatives through committee work at the department, school, and college levels, while spearheading program planning, evaluation, recruitment, and marketing efforts to advance the OTA profession.
