Andrea Blumenthal

Andrea Blumenthal brings more than 25 years of clinical experience to her therapy, supervision and teaching practice. As a licensed clinical social worker and systemic practitioner, she is committed to working collaboratively with her clients and centering her practice on understanding individual and collective experiences through an anti-oppression framework. She has extensive experience working with families and children in a variety of mental health and child welfare agency contexts. In addition to teaching in the MFT program at Mercy University, Ms. Blumenthal is a faculty member at the Ackerman Institute for the Family, a post-graduate training institute in family therapy, and maintains a private practice specializing in relationship issues with couples and families. Her clinical interests include enhancing the fit between caregivers and children, supporting families impacted by the foster care system and examining the impact of illness and medical struggles on families.

In her spare time, she enjoys the outdoors and continues to marvel at her current life phase of parenting 3 teenage/young adult children.
